A Study on the Improvement of Job Service Delivery System for Older Adults : Focusing on Interview with Participants and Service Supplier

|
This study analyzed the delivery system of ‘the Support for Senior Employment and Social Activities' from the perspective of the consumer and the supplier and suggested the improvement plan. The number of jobs for the seniors, which began with 25,000 jobs in 2004, is projected to increase by 24.6% a year, and 610,000 jobs by 2019. Despite the quantitative expansion, due to the complexity of the job program type with segmented structure, it is difficult to reflect the changing nature of the seniors and increased demand for senior jobs. In order to achieve the policy objective of ‘promoting the welfare of the elderly through work and social activities' in response to the changing policy environment, there is a need to confirmed the constrains and limitations experienced by participants and service providers of ‘the Support for Senior Employment and Social Activities’. In this study, focus group interview (FGI, 13 interviews in total) was conducted for the senior workers (participating in the job program) and suppliers (agencies, etc.), which are the main actors who have a direct relationship with the senior job program. The results of this study showed different contextual arguments depending on the role and function of each subject surrounding the job for older adults. Based on the analysis criteria, we discussed how to improve the effective delivery system that guarantees complexity, relationship and feasibility of senior job service delivery system.
